The core of this sculptural series are cotton twill roles which I collected from an old canvas factory in California, USA. Instead of weaving canvases, I applied paint and other collected materials from my art production incorporating the sand and earth from the ground. The sculptures are created on the land and almost baked by the sun of the desert, making it appear as it can be a ceramic sculpture.

Mind over Matter is part of a larger series of sculptures, titled Earth Capsules, which I started in 2022. This Earth Capsule traveled between two deserts, Joshua tree, CA, and Abiquiu, NM. While some works are done immediately, other are transformed over period in times to create meaning, symbolizing a relict of accumulated raw expressions in environment.
