In 2020, David Medalla invited me to participate in the London Biennale. Intending to move away from the static viewing of traditional art objects, I developed interactive performance works set within an alternate reality. In these spaces, I often adopt an alter ego, donning masks and utilizing wearable paintings integrated with magic sticks and bells that double as sonic communication devices to interact with the outside world. To support the documentation of these surreal events, Vital Spaces in Santa Fe, New Mexico, generously provided me with a unique residency studio housed in a former Guess department store. This space allowed me to film my performances and share my experimental methodology with a global online community.

Masks, Mirages and the Morphic Mirror
2020
Video still - London Biennale

One sequence, two mountains, three figures and four trees ...

Every 5 seconds, sometimes, one of them looks up and reveals her story.

She who knows

he knows not, longing

for them who know

not they know not

and for them who know that they are.

I am not here.

Does she walk in her sleep?
